The Extremely Large Telescope, located in Chile, is considered one of the most important works in the world for scientific research in the field of astronomy.

Its construction, worth about 1 billion and 100 million euros, has benefited from the contribution of IDF Fire Engineering for fire prevention strategy. The regulations followed to ensure safety is the Fire Prevention Code (D.M. 03/08/15 and s.m.i.), an internationally recognized standard applicable to even the most complex engineering works that require increasingly stringent safety requirements. For this reason, IDF considered this regulation the best applicable approach, providing the client with compliant and alternative engineering solutions. The design was then validated by the University Laboratory of Santiago de Chile with the contribution of the Ramboll Group, a large Danish architecture and engineering company, which certified the high quality of the activity carried out.
