The Leonardo supercomputer is one of the most powerful computers in the world, ranking fourth on the global Top 500 list in terms of performance, and represents excellence in the field of Italian scientific research. Thanks to its ability to perform millions of trillions of operations per second, it will promote technological innovation in the mitigation and management of environmental risks, such as pandemics or natural events like earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods.

The inauguration was attended by Sergio Mattarella – President of the Republic, Anna Maria Bernini – Minister of University and Research, and Stefano Bonaccini – President of Emilia-Romagna.

IDF Fire Engineering was responsible for the fire safety of the spaces that house the supercomputer at the Technopolo in Bologna. In particular, IDF provided compliant and alternative solutions, respecting current regulations and simultaneously satisfying the high safety standards required.
